Sweet childhood memories
For my sister, she would not have grown without apple compote. Back in the days everything she ate had to be with apple compote. The strangest combination she made with it. As a child it always surprised me and even gave my taste buds the jeeper creepers now and then. Luckily, mostly for me,
her taste buds changed over time. Now I find it enjoyable and cozy to have her around to enjoy apple compote together.
This classic Dutch apple compote is how I like it best. It’s simple, doesn’t cost a great time nor money and it indulges you a healthy dessert. Or a great breakfast day-starter with a scoop of coconut yogurt or some bircher muesli.
